A simulator built on invented prices would teach nothing. This page names every source Abu Terminal actually uses, and is deliberately specific rather than a generic "data may be delayed" notice.

Historical prices — the core of the product

The Speed Run replays real market history. Those prices come from a price registry committed inside Abu Terminal itself: 80,964 data points across 341 tickers and five decades, from the 1980s to the 2020s.

This registry is read directly. Prices are not generated, interpolated or estimated at runtime — a ticker with no data for a month returns nothing rather than a plausible-looking number. Where a value could not be sourced reliably, the ticker is simply unavailable for that period.

The registry was assembled from several sources and cross-checked against known anchor points. Some of it is public-domain or openly published — the Shiller S&P series, FRED macro series, LBMA gold. A substantial part of it was derived from Yahoo Finance, and we do not hold permission covering the display of that part.

That question remains open. Since September 2026 the historical price registry and the candlestick data are included in the published build, with Yahoo Finance and TradingView named as sources in the Disclaimer and the Terms. This is the operator's deliberate decision to run the game on real prices while a data licence is pursued, not a claim that the data is licensed. If that position changes, a single build switch withholds the data again and the screens that show it say so.

The registry itself is static: replaying October 1987 gives the same prices as it did last month. Nothing is generated, interpolated or estimated at runtime.

Live crypto prices

Live crypto prices are supplied by CoinGecko — data provided by CoinGecko. This is used only for display; the simulator's historical scenarios do not depend on it.

Market sentiment

Alternative.me supplies the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, used as one input to Abu Terminal's own market-state indicator.

Charts

Interactive charts are embedded from TradingView. The chart widget is theirs and is governed by their terms; Abu Terminal does not redistribute their data.

Conversational assistant

The conversational assistant is not currently part of Abu Terminal. Nothing you write is sent to a model provider, because there is no chat surface and no runtime connection to one. Some educational content was drafted with machine assistance before publication — that describes how the text was written, not a service running now, and it involves no request from your browser.

Educational content

Articles, glossary entries, playbooks and scenarios are written for Abu Terminal. Where an article draws on a named book or author, the attribution appears in the article itself.

What we do not use

Abu Terminal does not scrape undocumented endpoints for market data. Automated collection from Yahoo Finance — a weekly job that requested a price for roughly a thousand tickers and committed the result — was removed on 18 August 2026. We did not hold permission for it. Stock reference prices have been frozen since, deliberately: the replacement for an unauthorised source is an authorised one, not a different unauthorised one.

That is a separate matter from the historical registry described above, which was built earlier from the same source and whose display rights are still unresolved. Both are stated here because an earlier version of this page said the removal covered everything, and it did not.

Abu Terminal does not connect to any brokerage or exchange account, and no real order is ever placed.

Limitations, stated plainly

Market data may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted or occasionally wrong. It is provided for the simulator's informational function and is not suitable for trade execution, valuation, accounting or any professional purpose. Rights in third-party data remain with their owners.
